Overview
ATS Resume Intelligence is Applivo's built-in parsing and compliance engine. Modern Applicant Tracking Systems (such as Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and Taleo) process incoming resumes through automated parsers before any human recruiter reviews them. Complex tables, multi-column layouts, graphics, and missing keywords frequently cause qualified candidates to be silently rejected.
Applivo's native engine audits your resume against target job specifications, calculating real-time keyword match percentages, identifying missing technical competencies, and reformatting experience bullet points into parser-friendly single-column layouts.
Configuration
ATS Resume Intelligence is a core built-in engine. It requires zero external account connection or third-party API credentials:
- Navigate to Resumes in your Applivo sidebar.
- Upload your existing master resume in PDF or DOCX format.
- Applivo parses sections into structured data: contact information, education, technical skills, and work experience.
- When evaluating a job on the Jobs page, click Analyze to generate an instant ATS match report.
How it works
The intelligence engine executes a multi-stage NLP and parsing pipeline:
- 1. Text Extraction: Extracts raw text while preserving hierarchy, chronological dates, and bullet lists.
- 2. Skill Graph Mapping: Compares candidate proficiencies against required languages, frameworks, libraries, and tools mentioned in the job description.
- 3. Match Density Scoring: Generates a 0-100% score based on core requirements, nice-to-have skills, and seniority alignment.
- 4. Gap Identification: Flags critical missing keywords that ATS parsers will search for (e.g., 'Docker', 'PostgreSQL', 'CI/CD').
- 5. Single-Column Transformation: Re-formats tailored resumes into clean single-column PDF or LaTeX source files that pass standard ATS scanners without parsing errors.

Permissions and data access
All resume parsing and scoring occurs locally within Applivo's backend environment. Resumes are stored encrypted in the database and are never shared with external aggregators or advertising networks.
