Overview

Telegram is a secure, cloud-based instant messaging platform known for ultra-fast push notifications. Applivo's Telegram integration links your candidate account to our verified Telegram bot (@ApplivoBot), delivering real-time mobile notifications for high-match job opportunities, application run completions, and interview reminders wherever you are.

Configuration

Telegram linking uses a secure, single-use linking code:

Open Dashboard → Connections.
Locate Telegram under Notifications and click Configure.
The Telegram Linking Modal displays a unique 8-character linking code (with a 10-minute expiry window) and a direct deep link.
Click 'Open in Telegram' (or search for @ApplivoBot in your Telegram app and send /start <code>).
Applivo's webhook receives the start command, cryptographically validates the token, pairs your Telegram Chat ID with your user account, and responds with a confirmation message.
The Telegram card in your dashboard updates immediately to 'Connected' displaying your Telegram handle.

How it works

The Telegram linker service (app/services/integrations/telegram_linker.py) executes notification delivery:

Event Dispatch: Central dispatcher forwards lifecycle events to the Telegram linker.
Markdown Formatting: Renders clean markdown messages with clear emojis, role titles, match scores, and direct dashboard URLs.
Bot API Delivery: Dispatches messages via Telegram Bot API (https://api.telegram.org/bot<token>/sendMessage) using your paired Chat ID.
Unlink Control: Sending /unlink in Telegram or clicking Disconnect in Applivo immediately deletes the chat mapping from the database.

Permissions and data access

Applivo only stores your numerical Telegram Chat ID and public username. We have zero access to your personal contacts, private chats, or other Telegram channels.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	Likely Cause	Resolution
