Overview

Google Calendar is the industry standard for scheduling recruiter screens, technical coding rounds, and hiring manager debriefs. Applivo's Google Calendar integration synchronizes your application interview schedule directly into your personal calendar, complete with recruiter video links, candidate notes, and automated preparation reminders.

Configuration

Connecting Google Calendar requires OAuth 2.0 authorization:

Navigate to Dashboard → Connections.
Locate Google Calendar under Calendar and scheduling.
Click Connect to open Google's authorization screen.
Grant the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events permission.
Click Allow. Applivo validates credentials and marks the connection Active.

How it works

The calendar service (app/services/integrations/google_calendar.py) coordinates event synchronization:

1. Event Detection: When an interview is recorded or booked via Calendly, Applivo prepares a structured calendar event.
2. Timezone Normalization: Dates and durations are converted to your candidate profile timezone.
3. Event Creation: Creates an event on your primary Google Calendar with meeting link, company name, role title, and interview notes.
4. Preparation Notification: Automatically schedules a prep reminder 24 hours and 1 hour before the interview starts.
5. Deduplication: Assigns an internal external_id to prevent duplicate calendar entries.

Permissions and data access

Requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events, allowing Applivo to create and update only interview events created by the app.
