Zapier
Trigger custom multi-app automations across 5,000+ apps when job applications, interviews, or matches occur.

Overview
Zapier connects more than 5,000 web applications without code. Applivo's Zapier integration uses an enterprise-grade outbound webhook engine (app/services/integrations/webhook_engine.py) to stream real-time JSON payloads whenever key application milestones occur, enabling candidates to build custom automations in Google Sheets, Airtable, Discord, Trello, and beyond.
Configuration
Setting up Zapier requires zero OAuth credentials—simply paste a Catch Hook URL:
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose 'Webhooks by Zapier' as the Trigger.
- Select the 'Catch Hook' event and copy your unique Webhook URL.
- In Applivo, navigate to Connections → Automation webhooks and locate Zapier.
- Click Configure to open the Webhook Configuration Modal.
- Paste your Zapier Webhook URL and choose your subscribed events (e.g., Application Submitted, Interview Scheduled, Job Match Found).
- Click Send Test Payload. Zapier captures the sample data to define your Zap's data fields.
- Save the endpoint. The connection turns Active with live delivery history tracking.
How it works
The outbound webhook engine enforces rigorous security and delivery reliability:
- Event Filtering: When an event occurs, the engine evaluates candidate endpoints subscribed to that event type.
- Payload Generation: Generates an ISO 8601 timestamped JSON payload containing the event ID, event type, user ID, and full event data (job details, match scores, submission timestamps).
- Cryptographic Signing: Computes an HMAC-SHA256 signature using a per-endpoint secret key, sending it in the X-Applivo-Signature header.
- SSRF Prevention: Resolves the destination IP address and aborts delivery if it targets private subnets, loopbacks, or cloud metadata endpoints.
- Retry Architecture: If Zapier responds with 5xx or times out, Applivo retries with exponential backoff (up to 3 attempts) and records execution logs in webhook_deliveries.
Available features
- Outbound webhook delivery across 8 distinct career lifecycle events.
- HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic payload signing for data authenticity.
- SSRF IP validation preventing network exploitation.
- Comprehensive delivery history log with HTTP status codes and response latency.
- Pause, resume, and multiple endpoint management.
Permissions and data access
Transmits only event payloads for the specific events you select. You control the destination URL and can disable or delete the endpoint at any time.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery log shows 'SSRF Validation Error' | Webhook URL resolves to an internal or private IP address | Ensure you are using a public, HTTPS-secured Zapier webhook URL. |
| Zapier test step captures no data | Test payload was not triggered from the modal | Click 'Send Test Payload' in the Applivo Webhook Config Modal while Zapier is listening. |
